Publisher Atlus has revealed a brand new video showcasing Persona 5’s gameplay.
The video shows the Phantom Thieves of Hearts, the game’s protagonists, engaged in combat with multiple enemies. The characters are seen using their Personas in order to exploit the enemies weaknesses and to deal out damage in an extremely flashy way. You can check out the video below.
Right off the bat, the combat is fast, fluid and more importantly, extremely colorful and over the top. Compared to previous games in the series, animations and even the menus are extremely stylized, and according to the video, the menus are are also no longer in list form. All available options, Attack, Item, etc, now seem to be floating around the characters.
Persona 5 is the latest game in the Persona series and will take place in the city of Tokyo. The story is centered around your silent protagonist and other students in the fictional Shujin High School, as they gain Persona powers and form a masked vigilante group known as the Phantom Thieves of Hearts.
The game is slated for release on September 15, 2016 for Japan and February 14, 2017 in North America for the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation 4. Last month, the game also got 18 minutes of new gameplay.
