After the recent update, Pokémon GO players have been complaining about how hard catching Pokémon has become, and how often a Pokémon runs away from the battle.
However, the increased difficulty in catching Pokémon is a result of a bug. The players have been complaining about Pokémon escaping battles, and that Pokéballs are harder to throw as well. The official Pokémon GO twitter confirmed that both of these issues are bugs, and the team over at Niantic Labs is working on fixing the issue.
Trainers, a new bug affecting throw accuracy increases the odds of escape and omits the XP bonus. We are working on a fix, stay tuned…

Many fans have reported that the Pokéballs curve more than before, which makes catching Pokémon harder. Another bug that the fans have reported, is that players do not get rewarded experience for catching Pokémon.
After the release of the recent update, and shutting down third-party websites such as PokéVision, Niantic responded to the community by saying, “We have limited access by third-party services which were interfering with our ability to maintain quality of service for our users and to bring Pokémon GO to users around the world.”
Niantic told their fans that they are currently working on an update, which will be coming soon to Pokémon GO. The update is expected to fix all of these bugs, as well as adding a new tracking system for Pokémon.
