New Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Leak Has Ryu Hayabusa, Steve from Minecraft, and Doom Guy [Rumor]

A new supposed Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Character DLC leak has surfaced that lists some interesting additions to the roster.

We previously covered a supposed roster leak that claimed characters like Heihachi from Tekken, Steve from Minecraft, Rayman from Rayman and Erdrick from Dragon Quest XI were slated for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for 2019. The credibility of that leak was strengthened by the included comments on the GranBlue Fantasy Versus fighting game by Arc System Works that was announced days later.

This new leak comes from the same source i.e 5Channel and interestingly pre-dates the prior leak.

The leak states P5R will release in the first half of 2019. Atlus teased Persona 5 R just a few days ago, claiming new information for March.

It also claimed Erdrick from the Dragon Quest series  was headed to the game with Anlucia (Dragon Quest X) and the Dragon Quest XI protagonist to be available as Pallet Swaps. The leak states Dragon Quest XI S and more Dragon Quest games will be released in 2019 for the Switch with Nintendo publishing XI S themselves. Erdrick’s chances of inclusion as a DLC character are really strong right now.

Ryu Hayabusa from the Ninja Gaiden series was also suggested. The post claims there’s a Ninja Gaiden 30th anniversary project in development with a new game planned for 2019 although the leaker isn’t sure if its a new game or a remaster of some sort.

Steve from Minecraft is also mentioned and slated to be announced at E3 2019. Steve will have Alex and Master Chief as Pallet Swaps. Steve was originally planned for the main roster but will now be released later to promote DLC for Minecraft Dungeons.

Finally Marine A.K.A DOOM Guy is the first character listed and expected to be announced at E3 2019. DOOM Guy will have his DOOM64 attire as a Pallet Swap and is intended to be a promotion for DOOM Eternal.

Some really unconventional choices here. Let us know your thoughts on this rumor in the comments below.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is out now on the Nintendo Switch.
