343 Industries has finally revealed new images for the UNSC vehicles in Halo 5: Guardians. The developer explained how the addition of new vehicles will affect the gameplay. Furthermore, special variants for these vehicles will be available through Halo 5: Guardian’s new Requisition (REQ) system. This is a reward based system, whereby if you complete different objectives in a game’s Area or Warzone mode, you’ll get to earn REQ points. The points will then allow you to spawn new UNSC vehicles.
The complete characteristics and description of the vehicles, as mentioned by 343 Industries, are as follow:
- Scorpion: The addition of the new tank , Scorpion, is half in mass as compared to the M820, but both the tanks have almost the same firepower and armor protection. The new Scorpion tanks are equipped with heavy armory as well as heavy cannon along with the ability to upgrade the weapon.
- Mongoose: The new tank, Mongoose, is similar to the old tank, M290 ATV, but it is doubled in size and armor as compared to the old tank.
- Gungoose: The new tank, “Gungoose” is the mixture of a M290 Mongoose quad bike and two grenade launchers. A person can seat on it’s rear-facing seat, who can then provide a strong offense on the snake-killer’s nose and tail.
- Rocket Warthog: Rocket Warthog, which is also known as M12A1 Light Anti-Armor Vehicle, is often use as a strong defense for the UNSC ground forces. The improved version of the vehicle consists of a heavy armor which enables the vehicle to fight against the lightly armored vehicles.
In the recent updates, the game achieved it’s “Gold” status, though 343 Industries continues to work on the next updates, such as December’s Forge mode and DLC maps. Halo 5: Guardians will be launched on October 27th, 2015 exclusively for Xbox One.
