Ni No Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom offers two different display modes on the PS4 Pro. One runs the game at a higher resolution with unlocked frame rate while the other runs it at native 1080p while targeting 60 FPS. Both of these modes can be toggled through the options menu and don’t need the game to be restarted. If you are curious to see the difference between both of these modes, you can check out a comparison between the 4K and 1080p mode below.
The visuals are also slightly tweaked whether you run it at the 4K mode, which is enabled by default, or the standard definition mode, which runs the game at 1080p. The performance of the game is obviously a lot better in the 1080p mode but I really liked the visuals when running the game at 4K and just decided to sacrifice performance for it. If you find the difference hard to spot, here is an animated GIF to make it easier to notice the change. It is even more visible if you play the game on a 4K display.
