Level 5 and Bandai Namco Entertainment has shared the first look at the gameplay for Ni No Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom for the PS4. This game is the sequel to the original Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch for the PS3, which was also released for the Nintendo DS.
The series has received considerable attention because of the designs done by Japanese animation powerhouse, Studio Ghibli. While the original game had a story and world crafted and animated by Studio Ghibli, the sequel doesn’t appear to have them working on the game, although it does feature a very distinct art style that is similar to the very first game.
Bandai Namco Entertainment released the first gameplay trailer for Ni No Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom, which you can check out below.
The trailer confirms the 2017 release year for the game although there is no proper release date listed for it. The game also features an overworld map in addition to a combat system that looks be an evolved version of the original game.
Ni No Kuni 2: Revnant Kingdom is currently confirmed for the PS4 and will be released sometime in 2017. It is being developed by Level 5 and will be published by Bandai Namco Entertainment.
