Just as it was announced earlier this month, a demo for NieR: Automata has now gone up on the PlayStation Store, and it’s size is only 4.4 GB.
The demo is set in an abandoned factory as the backdrop, and follows android 2B’s mission to destroy a massive enemy weapon that lies within it. Additionally, Square Enix has also released a new “Iconic Crossover Weapons” trailer for the game that showcases Final Fantasy XV’s Engine Blade and Dragon Quest’s Cypress Stick.
The official description for the demo reads:
Join androids 2B and 9S and their ferocious battle to reclaim a machine-driven dystopia overrun by powerful machine lifeforms. Experience a glimpse of the action-packed and high-speed battles rendered in fluid 60fps, against hordes of enemies within a beautifully desolate open-world. NieR: Automata™ is a fresh take on the action role-playing game (RPG) genre that gracefully blends mesmerising action with a captivating story.
The latest addition to the Nier franchise, Nier: Automata tells the story of an Earth that has been invaded by beings from another planet, resulting in a war thar forced mankind to escape to the moon.
In order to reclaim their home a resistance force of android warriors has been created by humanity to fight these invaders, and it is these androids you play as during the events of the game.
Nier: Automata is set for release on 23rd February, 2017 in Japan and on 7th March, 2017 in North America for the PlayStation 4. A PC version of the game will also arrive in 2017, although an official date has not yet been announced.
