Sleeper hit NieR Automata has crossed the 3.5 million units shipments and digital sales mark worldwide as announced by Square Enix today.
Developed by Square Enix in collaboration with Platinum Games, NieR Automata released first on the PS4 during February 2017 in Japan and a month later during March in North America and Europe. The game was also released on PC later in March 2017, and on the Xbox One in June of 2018.
Square Enix revealed sales in Asian regions alone account for over one million shipments and digital sales.
NieR Automata was recently rumored to be getting a GOTY edition on PC and PS4 soon, which time in well with this news. The Xbox One version already released with all DLC content so need for a GOTY edition there.
One of the game’s protagonists, 2B, was also recently introduced into Bandai Namco’s Soulcalibur 6 as DLC.
