Nintendo Announces A Miniature Version Of The Iconic NES

Released back in the 1980s, there are few things as iconic and instantly recognizable as the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). It is not only considered by some to be the greatest video game console of all time, it is also the best selling console of it’s generation and is also responsible for the revival of the video game industry after the 1983 video game crash.

And now, in a completely unexpected announcement, Nintendo revealed that the original NES will be getting relaunched as the NES Classic Edition, which is a miniature version of the original.


The NES Classic Edition is set to launch on November 11th and will come bundled with an HDMI cable, a USB cable for powering the console and a Mini NES Controller. It will also launch with 30 games included in the system, which are:

  • Castlevania
  • Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest
  • Donkey Kong
  • Donkey Kong Jr.
  • Double Dragon II
  • Dr. Mario
  • Excitebike
  • Final Fantasy

  • Ghosts ‘n’ Goblins
  • Gradius
  • Ice Climber
  • Kid Icarus
  • Kirby’s Adventure
  • Mario Bros.
  • Mega Man 2
  • Metroid
  • Ninja Gaiden
  • Pac-man
  • Punch-Out!! Featuring Mr. Dream
  • StarTropics
  • Super Mario Bros.
