Nintendo is working on a release of Skyward Sword for the Nintendo Switch, as teased by Eiji Aonuma during a Zelda fan concert.
This news is currently making the rounds on Chinese social media and references a comment (via) made by Eiji Aonuma during The Legend of Zelda concert at Nintendo Live 2018. According to the reports, when speaking to the fans, he said: “I know what you’re waiting for – Skyward Sword for Switch. Right?
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword was a little controversial entry in the series due to the focus on motion controls. It did offer some great dungeons and had a unique animated art style for the game. This helped make it one of the better Zelda entries released on the Nintendo Wii.
While this is by no means an official announcement, it is possible that this might be a Zelda game to launch next year before Nintendo releases a brand new entry in the series, as they are hiring for and working on a new 3D Zelda game.
In the past, Nintendo has released a remaster of The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, Twilight Princess for Wii U. They have also worked on Majora’s Mask and Ocarina of Time remaster for the Nintendo 3DS so releasing such remasters on new platforms is nothing new for them.
