Nintendo Switch Sales Hit 19.67 Million Units, Software Sales At 86.93 Million Units

Nintendo Switch seems to be trending upwards with the total sales so far hitting 19.67 million units. Unlike its predecessor, Nintendo Switch appears to be a commercial success for the company and it is not only selling a good amount of hardware, but it is also moving a lot of software for Nintendo.

The latest results shared by the company for the fiscal year ending June 2018 reveals that the worldwide shipment of the console has now hit 19.67 million units. The combined software sales for the Nintendo Switch are also about to reach 100 million and currently stand at 86.93 million units.


Nintendo has also shared an updated sales figure for their best selling first party games on the Nintendo Switch. Mario Odyssey tops the chart with 11.17 million units while Mario Kart 8 Deluxe stands behind it with 10.35 million units.

  1. Super Mario Odyssey – 11.17M
  2. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – 10.35M
  3. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – 9.32M
  4. Splatoon 2 – 6.76M
  5. 1-2 Switch – 2.45M
  6. ARMS – 2.01M
  7. Kirby Star Allies – 1.89M
  8. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 – 1.42M
  9. Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze – 1.40M
  10. Mario Tennis Aces – 1.38M

Despite being a late port for the Nintendo Switch, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze has done really well on the Switch. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is the only other late port on the list while The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild launched simultaneously on the Nintendo Switch and Wii U.
