Great news for gamers planning to get their hands on a next gen console but can’t wait for the PS4 or Xbox One. Nintendo just announced that the 32GB Wii U bundle, previously known as the Wii U Deluxe Edition, will now be priced at $299 after a $50 price drop.
The normal 8GB Wii U seems to be phased out, Nintendo has yet to announce a White 32GB version of the Wii U.
The Wii U will now sell in two different models, one that includes Nintendo Land and the other includes The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD. Both of the aforementioned models will be in black but the Zelda models’ controller has a thematic style etched into it and will include a digital copy of Hyrule Historia along with the game of course. Storage wise both the consoles will have 32GB of memory, easily expandable via external storage.
The price cut will take affect on September 20th so you may want to hold back till then.
For comparison the PS4 is priced at $400 while the Xbox One is $500, both the aforementioned consoles are set to launch in November. Nintendo also announced the Nintendo 2DS today, which is basically a slab shaped 3DS without 3D functionality.
