Octodad: Dadliest Catch has yet to receive a confirmed release date on the PS4. Most of the details about it are still shrouded in mystery. The developers of Octodad, Young Horses Games, recently talked about Octodad: Dadliest Catch release on the PS4.
According to Young Horses Games, Octodad has finished its development on the PS4 and is currently going through certification process. Afterwards, they still have to finalize a release date in April with Sony. They also confirmed that it won’t be a PS+ title.
It’s going through certification and then we have to finalize a good date with Sony. April is still our target unless something goes horribly wrong.
Octodad: Dadliest Catch is already available on Steam, where it is priced a modest $15. Young Horses Games confirmed that it will match this $15 price on the PS4 as well. They also shared more details on how long it can take to beat the game.
A single playthrough of the story is anywhere from 2-4 hours depending on the person, and then additional hours to collect ties/achievements. There is also the local co-op mode.
They confirmed that it will support the regular Move + Navigation controller on the PS4, although it will require the PS4 Camera. No plans for a Ps3 version though.
We also support Move. The best configuration I believe is Move + Nav. Dual Moves is fun, though can be a bit chaotic. Single Move is doable, but can be strenuous. You can use these in co-op mode as well.
