Yo-Kai Watch 4 has received its first official trailer by Level 5. It was shown at Tokyo Game Show 2018 and it was originally set to launch later this year, but later delayed to 2019.
The first official trailer gives us a better glimpse at how the game looks visually on the Nintendo Switch. The frame rate, in particular, is rather atrocious in the gameplay footage. Thankfully with the delay to next year, the developers will have a much better chance of fixing the frame rate issues on Nintendo Switch.
In addition to the trailer, a gameplay footage was also shared for Yo-Kai Watch 4. It shows how the battle system seems to resemble Level 5’s previous effort with Ni No Kuni series.
Yo-Kai Watch 4 is currently confirmed for the Nintendo Switch. It has received 3 mainline games so far but all of them were available exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS. There have been several spin-offs available as well, but again they were limited to the Nintendo 3DS handheld.
Yo-Kai Watch 4 will launch in Spring 2019 for Japan. There is no official confirmation of a localization for the Western market, but almost every Yo-Kai Watch game including the spin-offs has been localized, so expect the same here. The game was initially set for Holiday 2018 release but later delayed to Spring 2019.
