Halo Wars 2 is getting an open beta next week

The open beta for Halo Wars 2 begins next week on June 13th, the same day as Microsoft’s briefing, according to a series of leaks. The beta will be available the entire E3 week, ending on June 20th. This is according to an Xbox One product page for the real-time strategy game, spotted by Mondo Xbox, that went live early.

“Be among the first to experience the explosive return of real-time strategy to the Halo universe in the Halo Wars 2 Multiplayer Beta for Xbox One,” the listing reads.

The multiplayer will support up to six players, and the download file itself is around 13 GB. Expect more in the way of details on Monday, during Microsoft’s E3 media briefing.

Support for online play with up to six people is included. Whether or not the beta will be available to PC, or just exclusive to Xbox One, we don’t know as yet. We also don’t know what the beta will consist of.

It’s due to launch this fall across Xbox One and PC. The first Halo Wars was exclusive to Xbox 360. Microsoft has not yet mentioned cross-platform support will be present between the Xbox One or PC.
