Persona 5 delayed to Summer 2016 for PS3 and PS4

Atlus has delayed the upcoming Persona mainline game to Summer 2016, as revealed in a livestream at the ongoing Tokyo Game Show. Persona 5 was originally set for release in 2015 for the PS3 and PS4 in Japan.

Persona 5  was originally announced as a PS3 exclusive set for release in late 2014, but Atlus added the PS4 version to the mix and delayed the game to 2015. The game has now been confirmed to release in Summer 2016 in Japan. This release window was confirmed in a livestream held at the ongoing Tokyo Game Show.

In addition to the news about the delay, we also saw a brand new gameplay trailer. You can check out this gameplay trailer below.

Persona 5 is the first new game in the mainline Persona series after numerous spin-offs and remake. Persona 4 was released on the PS4 in 2008 and the series has been missing a new game ever since.
