Persona 5 Domain Registered by Atlus’ Mother Company

Here is some good news for JRPG fans: Atlus’ Mother Company has registered the following domain:

Well, that certainly gained some attention, didn’t it? The Shin Megami Tensei: Persona series is arguably one of the best JRPG series. Unfortunately, it has not seen a major release this generation; a release that fans were desperately waiting. The registration of this domain might mean that Atlus is planning to release Persona 5. However, if you’re a pessimist, let me fuel your negativity by telling you that companies normally purchase domains to prevent other people from purchasing them first, hence causing problems for the companies.

A few days back, Atlus had announced that it will continue it’s work on future titles and remain active. It may also be surprising to note that this domain was already registered on February the 10th, but the identity of the domain holder was withheld.

According to a Whois result, the domain was registered on June 25th, as seen below.

What do you guys think? Will we see a Persona 5 announcement in the near future? Do you think game will be released for both current-gen and next-gen consoles, or only the latter? Let us know in the comments below.
