Persona 5 brings back its fishing mini game and not only it has been improved, it also carries some secrets that can be attempted.
One of the most tough fish to catch in the game also results in a trophy called ‘Guardian of the Pond’ and there are certain requirements to catch this legendary fish in the game.
How To Unlock Fishing In Persona 5
To unlock the fishing mini-game, you will need to read a specific book in the game called ‘Fishpond Spotter’. This will unlock an area where it is possible to catch fish. Additionally, you can also accept invitation given by Ryuji during certain point in the game which unlocks the fishing area and mini game.
How To Catch Legendary Fish ‘Guardian of the Pond’
To prepare for catching the Guardian of the Pond, you have to buy the book titled ‘Essence of Fishing’ which can be bough from Shinjuku. This book makes it easier for you to see fish using your third eye and where the fishing line needs to land in order to catch them.
Once you have unlocked and improved your fishing skills, you will need to gain enough points, around 400, to purchase Top-class Boilie. You can gain these points faster by catching fishes with tags or by buying medium or large Boilie baits to catch fish that help toward reaching these points.
Once you have the required bait and the necessary skills, you will have to catch up to 6 fishes in order to get the Guardian to spawn in the river. It appears as a long gold fish if you use third eye so once you spot it, make sure to cast your fishing line so you can catch it. You will need to be careful as you have to make sure to trap it only when it closer to the surface so you can keep luring it with your bait until it gets closer and the reel it in, which will also require fewer button presses.
Persona 5 will be released on April 4th for the PS3 and PS4.
