PES 15 Runs At 1080p on PS4. Xbox One Version ‘Yet To Be Determined’

It seems as if the notorious “resolution-gate” drags on…. Konami’s latest football simulation, PES 15 is on the closing stages of it’s development and unless something changes, the Xbox One version is expected to perform much lower in performance as compared to its Sony rival.

2585521-wayneThe folks over at Videogamer, managed to grab hold of the development team behind the title and from their comments, it appears as if we are bound to see some graphical disparities between the consoles. When asked about the resolution of the game (on PS4 atleast), Adam Bhatti, the brand manager confidently replied,

“We’re locked at 60 frames, 1080p already, and this is the first build,”

However, to clarify the point regarding Xbox One, senior creative producer Naoya Hatsumi explained that

“(Production is) still at a stage where we can’t give a definite yes

When you consider that question comes from us having just PS4 consoles available for gameplay on the floor, it’s just purely for the development reasons”

Besides confirming that PS4 is the lead development platform, it appears that Konami might struggle to achieve 60fps/1080p gameplay on Xbox One, much like Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zero. However, there is still hope as evident from Hatsumi’s comments

“At the current development stage we’re in – which is just under 70 per cent complete – we still have a lot of work on game balance and some of the gameplay elements are just much more visible on what we want to deliver… We thought that would be able to be conveyed best through a PS4 at this stage, but we are definitely working on the Xbox One [and] all other platforms in parallel to the PS4 edition.”

Now, we’ll have to wait to see if they can optimize the game further to provide similar graphics on all platforms, afterall, EA’s Fifa 14 managed to run at 60fps and 1080p on both consoles!
