PixelJunk Shooter Ultimate is a simple game but it is a lot of fun. In this game, up to two players can control their own subterranean vehicles to rescue a number of surviving scientists trapped underground. Using their ships’ missiles, players can defeat enemies and destroy weak rocks to progress through the environment.
PlayStation Plus Subscribers who own a PlayStation 4 and PS Vita will be able to download the game for free as it is included in the Instant Game Collection for the month of June. The series originally started from the PlayStation 3 and then the developers upgraded the game in almost every aspect to make it PlayStation 4 worthy, and added new features to the game as well. One of these feature is cross-play support which is very interesting because now PlayStation 4 players will be able to play with players on the PS Vita and vice versa.
The developers of PixelJunk Shooter Ultimate combined two older version of the shooter to make one awesome title. Players will have to interact with their surrounding to solve puzzles, defeat enemies and progress through the levels of this amazing twin stick shooter.
The games weren’t just combined to make a single title. They were also drastically upgraded in terms of graphics and visuals. Double Eleven’s Lee Hutchinson said, “The PS4 version has undergone a complete visual overhaul, we’ve introduced real-time lighting, normal maps, and really souped up all the visual effects. You can see the difference immediately! The fluid now looks very volumetric and “full-bodied” and we’ve also re-vamped the user interface to match the new look. We were joking that with all the changes and additions, this could have been called PixelJunk Shooter 3! Oh, and at last, due to popular demand, Shooter now has a platinum trophy!”
