Final Fantasy XV received plenty of coverage recently when it took the center stage at this year’s TGS with its road trip trailer. The game was missing for more than a year without any proper footage and info and suddenly made a big appearance at TGS with a kick-ass trailer. Along with this trailer, we also heard a lot of new details about the game, along with the news that Tetsuya Nomura is no more involved with the project. Final Fantasty Type-0 and Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII director Hajime Tabata was confirmed to be the new director of Final Fantasy XV.
The game is set to receive a demo with the release of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD in March. Although we have seen the battle system in action, it is still shrouded in mystery. In the earlier Final Fantasy XV trailers (when it was Versus), we saw that we can switch party members. Although if the recent comment of Hajime Tabata in an interview was any indication, this feature was taken out.
It seems like this won’t be the case, if the product description on the official Japanese PSN store is to be believed. The listing confirms that we can switch party members in the game. Keep in mind that it only confirms the selection of party members, it doesn’t confirm if we can control them. You can check out a translated version of the listing below.
Taking advantage of the next generation console’s specifications, characters can move around the entire screen and the traditional party battle of Final Fantasy games is evolved so you can enjoy battle even more strategically by switching party members.
Final Fantasy XV is still in development and a demo of the game is currently planned for a release next year in March.
