PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is out now for the Xbox One. It is a part of the game preview program which grants early access to games before their official launch. Since the developers are still working on the game, issues and bugs are expected, however not to the extent as seen with the performance of the Xbox One version of the game.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is developed with both Xbox One and Xbox One X hardware support but unfortunately, the former just suffers from poor performance throughout the course of the game. The performance issues are even more severe if you drop from a plane and the frame rate can hit as low as 10 fps during this moment, as revealed in an analysis by VG Tech.
The game runs at native 1080p resolution on the Xbox One with the frame rate being the lowest at 10 fps if you jump from the airplane and 18 fps if you don’t do it. This is a strange case because the game’s port process was helped in part by the Microsoft’s official first party developers who treated it as their own game. Despite the support it received, the launch of the game hasn’t been a smooth experience so far.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is available now for the Xbox One and PC. You can get the early access version for $29.99.
