PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is due out this week exclusively on the Xbox One. This is an important game for the Xbox platform because it has proven to be a smash success on PC with more than 22 million copies sold far. The game started slowly in term of sales but word of mouth soon made it into a major hit. Sales begin to climb at a steady pace this Summer and it has never slowed down ever since.
The PC version of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds can prove to be complicated for first time players because it requires a lot of controls, which is easier to map out on a keyboard so it is interesting to see how the controls have transitioned to the Xbox One. In an official post on the Xbox blog, Microsoft has detailed all the control scheme, controller layout and more.
The controller scheme is customized according to a specific action e.g Inventory, Map or Driving. They appear to be rather beginner friendly here compared to the PC but the final version of the game might give a better idea for it.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is currently confirmed as an Xbox One exclusive while it is still available as early access release on Steam for PC. The game is officially releasing with a planned 1.0 update by the end of the year which will bring it out of early access. You can also buy a retail copy of the game ahead of its launch on the Xbox One on December 12th.
