Nintendo has announced two different Pokemon series for the Nintendo Switch at a presentation lately. One of them is Pokemon Let’s Go which seems to be closely linked to the Pokemon GO Smartphone game. The other is a core mainline Pokemon game that is currently confirmed for 2019.
Recently, president and CEO of The Pokemon Company, Tsunekazu Ishihara gave an interview on the upcoming 2019 Pokemon game where he teased their plans for it.
This interview was shared on a Japanese blog and translated by Twitter user BlackKite. It appears that unlike Pokemon Let’s Go, which he calls as ‘entry-level’ for newcomers, this new Pokemon 2019 game will be for the more experience fans of the series. It will offer the same hands-on feel but with a better visual quality.
According to Tsunekazu: “We want to provide brand-new game where you meet lots of new Pokemon.” This could point to the new game being an entirely new generation instead of a Remake like Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee.
Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee and Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu are currently slated to launch on November 16 exclusively for the Nintendo Switch. They appear to be focused more on a beginner friendly experience that targets the casual audience brought in by the popularity of the Pokemon GO Smartphone game.
