Pokemon GO developer Niantic Labs has announced the inclusion of the Alolan forms of Pokemon that were available in the Kanto Region. The announcement for this might tie towards the potential Pokemon for the Nintendo Switch rumors that hints towards a tie-in with the Pokemon GO mobile game.
In case you haven’t played the most recent Pokemon games for the Nintendo 3DS, they introduced these new type of evolution for Pokemon also called Alolan forms.

Kanto region is the first one in Pokemon. It contained the original 151 Pokemon that featured many fan favorite classics including the evergreen Pikachu. The announcement of the Alolan forms might be a surprise since Pokemon GO is slowly adding more Pokemon to capture in the game, but hasn’t managed to reach at the same point as the most recent Pokemon games.
There is no given release date for this new update but the developers have promised more info to follow in the coming weeks. Considering the rumors surrounding the Nintendo Switch version of Pokemon with trademarks for Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee and Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu having been registered, it can line up with this news as well. The rumor also states that this new game will be reportedly set in the Kanto region and it is supposedly getting an announcement soon.
