There is a trick to level up faster in Pokemon GO which revolves around evolving a Pokemon with minimal Candy requirements. They are either Pidgey, Rattata, Weedle, Caterpie or Eevee.
These Pokemon require somewhere between 12 to 25 Candy for evolution, which rewards the player with experience points, combined with Lucky egg, they can be used to quickly level up to 15 and above.
