Pokemon GO has received a new update recently that seems to have made some major changes. One new addition is the inclusion of a new Nearby tracking that currently appears to be in prototype stage and it is limited to a couple of lucky users.
This new nearby tracking feature shows the location of the Pokemon on the Pokemon radar directly in the game. It works this way by showing the location of the Poke Stop where the Pokemon is located which then results in zoomed out view of the Poke Stop with the Pokemon on it.
The Poke Stop can be seen with 3 steps in the map which signifies that the specific Pokemon can be located near the Poke Stop. According to the impressions of some of users who have access to this new tracking feature, the Pokemon that can be discovered in this way can be located fairly close to the Poke Stop.
You can see this feature in action in the screenshots and video below.
While this feature seems too easy at first, keep in mind that it requires Poke Stops which means that if you live in a rural location without any Poke Stop, you won’t benefit much from this new tracking feature while it will make it easier for players who live in an Urban city with an abundance of Poke Stops to capture new Pokemon.
Pokemon GO is available now for the iOS and Android. It was developed by Niantic Labs and published by Nintendo.
