Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 Won’t Run At Native 1080p On Xbox One, Dev Sacrifice Resolution For FPS

Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 won’t run at native 1080p on the Xbox One, as confirmed by Pro Evolution Soccer product manager, Adam Bhatti on Twitter.

In his tweet, Bhatti informed the fans that they won’t be able to hit native 1080p on the Xbox One for Pro Evolution Soccer 2016. He cited the frame rate as the main reason why they decided to drop resolution for the Xbox One. This is a different statement from what was earlier said about the game, where it was confirmed that it will run at native 1080p on both, PS4 and Xbox One.

You can check out his tweet below.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 is running on Fox Engine and the recently released information from Konami for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain also confirms a 900p resolution for the game on the Xbox One. As Bhatti later clarified, the resolution of the game is 1360 x 1080 on Xbox One, which means it sacrifices its horizontal resolution in favor of 1080p vertical resolution. This will still be a big jump from the previous game, where it ran at 720p on the Xbox One, and native 1080p on the PS4.
