You now have the option to plug in a headset with mic in the DualShock 4 to use the mic and stream audio directly from the DualShock 4.
But that’s not all, PlayStation 4 also supports professional microphones. Yes, it does. In a video by The Shaming, it was demonstrated that no headsets with mic or anything was plugged in and that only a professional microphone was connected and an audio message was recorded.

Why need a professional microphone? Professional microphones are good in quality and therefore if you’re sharing your gameplay video on twitch or want more clarity in chat then these can definitely come in handy. They can also come handy in ‘Sing Along’ type games like Singstar.
