At Sony’s Paris Games Week press conference, Rayman creator Michel Ancel took to the stage to present a brand new gameplay demonstration of his forthcoming PS4 open world survival game, Wild. The game was first revealed at Sony’s 2014 Gamescom press conference, and has been missing since then. Thankfully, the new gameplay footage looks quite promising and leaves us excited for its eventual release, which appears to be a long way off.
The new Wild gameplay demonstration can be seen in the video below.

The game appears to have changed somewhat from its initial showing back at Gamescom 2014. Instead of the hunters depicted in the reveal trailer, players will now assume the role of a magical shaman who can use his powers to possess wild animals, such as eagles, rabbits, and ravens. In order to aid him in his travel, he’ll also be able to tame certain animals for quickly getting across the game’s expansive open world.
Wild’s development appears to be in its early stages, so we may not hear from Ancel’s project for quite some time, especially given its ambitious nature. No release window has been announced for the PS4 exclusive thus far, but we’ll keep you posted if and when that happens. In the meantime, let us know what you think of the new gameplay footage in the comments below.
