PSN servers appear to be down and it has all happened suddenly today. This is an unexpected downtime for the PSN servers since Sony didn’t really announce any scheduled maintenance during this period.
Almost every major service is affected with the downtime as the official PSN status page reveals all categories in red. If you don’t have your PSN account set as primary on your PS4, you might be kicked out of playing games since the license won’t be verified.
Update: All services are back up as per the latest update on the PSN Status official website.
If you try to perform the network test on the PS4, you will get a message saying that PlayStation Network is undergoing a scheduled maintenance. It hasn’t been fixed for a full hour at the time of posting this article.
Down Detector also shows a lot of user reports regarding the PlayStation Network servers being down. Hopefully, Sony is able to resolve these issues soon. In the meanwhile, we have no choice but to wait for them to fix it.
