Double Fine has announced today that their adventure platformer title, Psychonauts will be released for the PlayStation 4 this Spring. This news was announced on the official PlayStation Blog. Psychonauts was originally released for PC, PlayStation 2 and Xbox back in 2005 and now, an enhanced version of the game is heading for the PS4.
In Pyschonauts, you play as a young boy Raz, a circus performer who decides to run away so he can join the Whispering Rock Psychic Summer Camp. As you make progress through the game, you will unlock some special abilities of Raz such as telekinesis, levitation and invisibility. Not only this, he will also be able to get himself into other minds which you will be able to explore later. Using his powers, you will help Raz uncover a mystery as you pass through minds of misfits, monsters, and madmen.
The PS4 version of the game is not going to be a full remaster but we can surely expect some improvements and more enhancements as Double Fine will have to make it fit for the PS4 system.
Double Fine has been slowly re-releasing some of its greatest titles on the PS4 including Grim Fandango, Full Throttle and Day of the Tentacle and now, along with the original Psychonauts, Double Fine is also bringing Psychonauts: The Rhombus of Ruin as a PlayStation VR exclusive title on the PS4.
No major details were revealed by Double Fine such as a release date or some new features, but we can pretty much expect to hear something regarding them soon as the game is set to release this Spring.
