Quantum Break listed for release in Spring 2016

Xbox UK is now listing Remedy Entertainment’s Xbox One exclusive, Quantum Break, for release during the Spring 2016 window. The game was first scheduled for release in 2015, but was later pushed forward into the year 2016. A more formal announcement regarding the game’s progress and release schedule is expected to come in the next few days at E3.

The listing comes days after former Remedy Entertainment CEO, Matias Myllyrinne, bid farewell to the studio. He did mention that the game was coming along nicely, and that it was on track for its 2016 release. Given the new listing, it does appear that development is progressing at a smooth pace.

Quantum Break was originally revealed at E3 2013, but little has been known about the game since then. The first proper gameplay footage was revealed at last year’s Gamescom, where a lengthy on-stage demonstration was conducted in front of an audience at Microsoft’s press conference. The demo showcased some interesting time warp mechanics, coupled with what is essentially a Max Payne-esque third-person shooter.

It will be interesting to see what other new gameplay elements are in store for us when the game will receive a more updated showing at this year’s E3. We’re expecting Quantum Break to be playable on the show floor at E3. How about you? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
