Remedy Entertainment and Microsoft Games have announced, in an official post on Xbox Wire, that Quantum Break will be getting a digital release on Steam on 14th September. The game will also be getting a special edition retail release titled, Quantum Break: Timeless Collector’s Edition.
While it was previously confirmed that Quantum Break would be a Windows 10 Store exclusive, a combination of technical issues and the fact that the game can reach a larger audience of Steam, has prompted the move to that specific distribution platform.
While Quantum Break has been a Windows 10 exclusive since launch, the Steam version of the game will be available on Windows 7 and up, as long as the PC is running a 64-bit version of the OS.
To clarify, the Steam and retail version of @QuantumBreak run on Windows 7 and up (64-bit). #quantumbreak

The Quantum Break: Timeless Collector’s Edition will also be available on 14th September and will include:
- Premium packaging
- 5 Game Discs (one-time Steam key redemption required)
- Making of Blu-Ray
- Making of Book
- 1 Soundtrack CD (Audio-CD)
- 2 Posters
- Quickstart Guide
The Timeless Collector’s Edition is set to launch for $39.99, and although no official price was announced for the Steam version, the game also costs $39.99 on the Windows Store, so we expect the price to remain the same.
Quantum Break was released back on 5th April 2016 for the Xbox One and PC. The game has been praised for it’s detailed graphics and gameplay, and has become Microsoft’s best selling new IP since the launch of the Xbox One.
