DOOM Eternal was recently confirmed to launch on the Nintendo Switch along with the PS4, Xbox One and PC version. This was a surprise announcement for many since this is the first time a game has been announced to simultaneously launch on Nintendo Switch and other consoles. Rage 2 is another game by Bethesda Softworks that is currently in development for PS4, Xbox One and PC, however, there is no announcement of a Nintendo Switch version for it.
In an interview with Variety, Bethesda Softworks has now talked about a potential Nintendo Switch version.
“We’re looking at the tech on that right now, and we’re still evaluating that. We stream everything, and we’re just looking… because everything is open, everything’s available, so there’s no level loads. We are looking at that now, but we don’t know, ” said Tim Willits, id’s studio director.
Bethesda Softworks is one of the bigger third-party supporters of Nintendo switch and has released games like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Wolfenstein 2, DOOM and announced DOOM Eternal, which is the sequel to the first DOOM.
Rage 2 is being developed by Avalanche Software. It is a first-person open-world shooter set in a post-apocalyptic world. The game is confirmed for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC and set to launch in 2019.
