Insomniac Games have worked on every Ratchet and Clank game since the series originated on the PS2. They have a close relationship with Sony and after they tried to work out independently with Microsoft, they are now back working with Sony on the latest Spider-Man for the PS4.
Insomniac Games’ community director James Stevenson has recently commented on the success of the Ratchet and Clank PS4 remake that was also a tie-in with an animated movie. He called it a ‘budget-priced’ Ratchet and Clank game and confirmed that it was their most successful Ratchet and Clank game, or Insomniac Games project of all time.
In a thread on gaming forum resetERA, he was replying to a user who was expressing concerns over the writing for Spider-Man PS4.
“The budget-priced movie-tie-in Ratchet & Clank game we made (which got an 85 metacritic and is the most successful Ratchet/Insomniac game of all time) is making you concerned about our biggest production ever?”
“I think you will be pleasantly surprised, ” said Stevenson in his post regarding the concerns of the user for Spider-Man PS4.
Ratchet and Clank was a full-blown remake of the original PS2 classic that also received a movie tie-in with the game. While the movie didn’t exactly manage to do much at the box office, the game was a great success and it was the fastest selling Ratchet and Clank game of all time.
