With just under a week to go until the launch of the PlayStation 4 Pro, another new game has been added to the rapidly growing roster of games for the console. In an official post of the PlayStation Blog, James Stevenson, Ratchet & Clank will be receiving a patch for the PS4 Pro soon.
The free update, which is set to arrive prior to or on the same day as the launch of the PS4 Pro, will allow the game to be played on 4K TVs at much higher resolutions. The patch will also enable the game to run with HDR using an HDMI 2.0 cable. Even those with a 1080p TV will see a tremendous increase in the resolution thanks to a technique that Insomniac games has dubbed “temporal injection.”
“We’re really excited about the potential of the PS4 Pro and what it means for our games. From Ratchet & Clank (PS4) to our upcoming game with Marvel Entertainment, Spider-Man (working title), PS4 Pro gives us the power to release our best-looking games ever.”
Finally, the patch will also enable HDR for those with HDR enabled TVs, but regular PS4s or PS4 Slims.
Released back in April of 2016, Ratchet & Clank is available now for the PlayStation 4. The game is also the fastest selling title in the franchise’s history.
