Rockstar Games has shared some details about Red Dead Online announcing the launch window for it. They have also announced a public beta for it that will be only available during the initial launch period with more news to come.
As expected, Red Dead Online won’t be available to play at the launch of Red Dead Redemption 2. It will release in November 2018 as a public beta but for the final release, only those with a copy of Red Dead Redemption 2 will be able to play it.

Red Dead Online is planned for launch in November 2018, initially as a public beta, with more news to come soon. As with most online experiences of this size and scale, there will inevitably be some turbulence at launch. Access to Red Dead Online is free to anyone with a copy of Red Dead Redemption 2 on either PlayStation 4 or Xbox One.
Rockstar Games are currently having massive success with GTA Online. It has become the most profitable product for Take-Two Interactive and they continue to release free updates and expansions for the online mode.
Red Dead Redemption 2 will be available on October 25th for the PS4 and Xbox One.
