Red Dead Redemption 2 will get a new update version 1.03 on day one to compensate for any last minute tweaks, bugs, and fixes, as confirmed by Rockstar Games.

In a blog post, they shared some details on the day one update stating that there will be one available for those who have already pre-loaded the game. Keep in mind that the current install size for the game is 92 GB but this includes update version 1.02, which weighs in at 3.3 GB on PS4.
Since Rockstar Games has now confirmed that another day one patch will be available at launch, this could be for update version 1.03 on PS4, and similarly on the Xbox One. Here is what they have shared regarding this update on PS4 and Xbox One.
As is common for a game of this size and scope, there will be a downloadable title update addressing a number of last minute tweaks, bugs and fixes.
There are no official patch notes available for it, so we will have to just settle on these vague descriptions provided by Rockstar Games.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is available for pre-load now on the PS4 and Xbox One. There are reports of slow PSN downloads for the pre-load but it can be a small sample size.
