Red Dead Redemption, Gears of War 2 And More Xbox 360 Games To Get 4K Update

Microsoft has confirmed that fan favorite Red Dead Redemption and Gears of War 2 will get an Xbox One X enhanced support. This was announced along with the confirmation of 19 OG Xbox games that will be coming to the Xbox One backward compatibility program this month.

The 4K update for Red Dead Redemption is an important one because it will finally bring the game playable in a remaster state, especially for those who own an Xbox One X. While the game is available on the Xbox One backward compatibility program, it is still running at a lower resolution, while the 4K update will help improve a lot of its visual flaws.

The games that are confirmed to get a 4K update on the Xbox One X include the following.

  • Red Dead Redemption
  • Gears of War 2
  • Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
  • Sonic Generations
  • Darksiders
  • Portal 2

These games will join the likes of Forza Horizon, Gears of War 3 and Assassin’s Creed among others, that were already playable in 4K on the Xbox One X.

If you own Xbox One X, some of the games get additional enhancements when played through the backward compatibility program. There are also specific updates to implement 4K support for some of these games however it is still a limited set of them that get the full upgrade to 4K.
