Resident Evil 2 Director Hideki Kamiya Is Confident In New Remake, Trusts The Dev Team

Resident Evil 2 is getting a Remake from Capcom. It is one of the fan favorite Resident Evil game so a remake for it means that there is a lot of anticipation and excitement among the fans. This is also the second time Capcom has decided to remake a mainline Resident Evil game after the original Resident Evil was remade for the Nintendo GameCube.

Resident Evil 2 Remake is still a mystery in term of gameplay and design, but the original game director, Hideki Kamiya, seems to be confident in the direction for the game and trusts the development team with their work on it.

In a set of messages on Twitter, Kamiya confirmed that he has met the director of the game and told him to “do as you like.” He also speculated that the Remake might be even better when a fan questioned him, however he later clarified that he hasn’t actually seen the game yet.

Kamiya-san also reminisced about the days when he was working on Resident Evil 2. It was his first project under the direction of Shinji Mikami and even though he hated horror games, he still had to work on the project.

Resident Evil 2 Remake has been rumored to be finally revealed this year. It was just announced back in 2015 and completely disappeared once the focus shifted to Resident Evil 7. The game hasn’t been confirmed for any platforms. Hopefully Capcom can share more information about it soon, and judging from the official social media accounts, perhaps they are gearing up for an announcement soon. This year also marks the 20th anniversary for the original Resident Evil 2 on the PS1.
