Capcom revealed Resident Evil 7 at Sony’s E3 2016 press conference and has released a playable demo for PS4 that gives the players a taste of what to expect from the final game. This short demo appears to have some hidden secrets that players are desperately trying to uncover. One of the secret potentially references Resident Evil 2 demo, as discovered by reddit user zisforzombiez.
Resident Evil 7 demo features a tape that needs to be played on a VCR. After booting the tape, the player can notice some random numbers and word on the screen and one of the numbers is referencing the PS1 release of Resident Evil 1 Director’s Cut, that was also shipped with the Resident Evil 2 demo. This seems rather deliberate attempt as the numbers are a close match. You can check it out in the image below.
Capcom is currently working on Resident Evil REmake 2, which is supposed to be a REmake of the second entry in the series, just like they remade Resident Evil 1 as Resident Evil REmake. While we haven’t really seen much from the game, it was confirmed to be in development last year, which means if this rumor is correct, the game will have been in development for more than a year, which should be enough for a short demo.
What do you think about the hint given in the Resident Evil 7 demo? Do you think it points towards the release of the Resident Evil 2 REmake demo with Resident Evil 7? Let us know in the comments below.
