Resident Evil 5 Is Releasing On June 28th For PS4 and Xbox One

Capcom has confirmed that Resident Evil 5 will be arriving on PS4 and Xbox One on June 28th. This news was leaked through the Xbox One Store listing which revealed the release date as June 28th. This was later confirmed by Capcom to be the official date of the game for the PS4 and Xbox One.

Resident Evil 5 is the first game in the series to feature split-screen and online co-op. This marked a change in direction for the series as the later games were all designed with co-op in mind including the recently released Resident Evil Revelations 2. Resident Evil 5 was originally released for the PS3 and Xbox 360 back in 2008 and will launch for the PS4 and Xbox One with extra features including all the in-game DLC and full native 1080p resolution at 60 fps.

This is the second HD re-release of a Resident Evil game from the PS3 and Xbox 360 after Resident Evil 6 was released in March. This will be followed by Resident Evil 4 later in Fall 2016 and if the rumors are true, Capcom is planning to release a brand new mainline Resident Evil game before March 2017.
