The Resident Evil 7 demo you’re playing is not part of the main game

Resident Evil 7 was announced yesterday at Sony’s E3 conference and it looks like a reboot in everything but the name. Gone is the over the shoulder TPS view and is now replaced with a FPS perspective. The game’s debut trailer showed gameplay which resembled PT a lot.

The game will also be playable fully in VR from start to finish which is certainly a new direction for the series. A demo of the game was also released for the Playstation 4 but Capcom, in an interview with Eurogamer, stated that it’s not part of the main game.

Resident Evil 7 will also star a different protagonist and not the person from the demo. Here’s hoping to Leon coming back but that’s probably not gonna happen.

Resident Evil 7 is currently in development for PS4, Xbox One and PC and is set to release next year on January 24.
