Resident Evil 7 is playable on the Nintendo Switch but it is not a local port and instead the game is streamed from a cloud. This means that while the visual fidelity is preserved for the most part, the controls can lag due to the increased input latency.
Resident Evil 7: Cloud Version is currently available in Japan and it is possible to download the free trial version on Nintendo Switch. The trial version doesn’t really offer much gameplay but it does give an idea of how the game can run even if you are far away from Japan.
The video below shows gameplay captured from the Nintendo Switch version. It appears to be a decent version but only if you can deal with the latency and live closer to the server, which means it is currently only ideal for Japan.
Resident Evil 7 was released back in January 2017 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC. The game also utilized PlayStation VR tech making it one of the best survival horror games offering virtual reality. It runs at 60 FPS on all platforms so perhaps the same holds true for the Nintendo Switch version. If you are interested in giving it a chance, you can try to get the free trial version from the Japanese Nintendo eShop but be prepared to face connection issues and crashes if you are playing it outside Japan.
