Twitter user SnoopyG7 has just tweeted three “in-game” screenshots from the next installment in Lara Croft’s adventures, Rise of the Tomb Raider. Real-time footage from the game has yet to be seen, as its previous appearances have been in the form of CG trailers. Game Informer’s cover story was the first real sneak peak at the game, and now we have the first ever in-game screenshots.
It’s likely that these screens are captured from the game’s E3 trailer that Square Enix may have lined up for its own or Microsoft’s conference, given the timed-exclusivity for Xbox platforms. The game’s visuals certainly show an improvement in visual fidelity, as Lara looks better than ever, sporting the new and improved TressFX 3.0 hair tech.
One of the screens suggests that the game will have real-time weather simulation, with hailstorms and snowfall being a big part of the setting. The other two screenshot shows Lara’s outfit covered in blood, implying that Rise of the Tomb Raider will be far more realistic in its depiction of blood spatter.
Tomb Raider is scheduled to arrive on Xbox One and Xbox 360 during Fall 2015. Stay tuned for more updates from E3 as they become available.
