Psyonix has confirmed that an upcoming Rocket League update set to launch in December will implement support for 4K and HDR on the Xbox One X.
Rocket League already runs at 60 FPS on the Xbox One but the resolution is stuck at 1080p, even for the Xbox One X version of the game. The good news is that this might finally change with a new update that is due out in December later this year.
This was revealed by Psyonix when detailing their upcoming Roadmap for Fall 2018. They didn’t really delve further into the specifics for the update but shared the following statement on it.
“We have one planned update left for 2018, which we’re hoping to release in early December. For our Xbox One X players, your time has come! Enhanced Xbox One X support will be part of this update, complete with 4K at 60 frames-per-second and HDR support! We’ll have more to share on these improvements in the near future.”
Rocket League already supports the PS4 Pro with 4K resolution although HDR implementation will be something new to the game. Psyonix hasn’t confirmed if this HDR update will also release for the PS4 Pro, but it is likely that this will be the case.
Rocket League is available now for the PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
