Psyonix reveals release date for Rocket League’s Neo Tokyo Update

Psyonix has previously teased us about new and improved changes coming to Rocket League, the hybrid between racing and soccer. However, the studio has now revealed when gamers can expect to take the game’s new features out for a test drive.

The newly announced Neo Tokyo update is going to be released on June 20, bringing with it a new cyberpunk stadium. The game will also receive a new Pillars mode, new post-game celebrations, and new quick-chat customization options.

Here’s a look at the trailer below:

Psyonix has detailed on its official blog that over 20 Rare and Very Rare item types for post-online game drops will be added. Neo Tokyo will also introduce the game’s new item trade-in system so players can swap duplicates of items they already have, with rarer, more useful items.

Four new DLC cars will be available digitally beginning July 18, which will include the two added to the new Neo Tokyo update, Esper and Masamune. For those who purchase the Rocket League Collector’s Edition, they will be accessible early. It releases on June 24 in Europe and July 5 in North America.
