Ever since the launch of Grand Theft Auto Online via Grand Theft Auto V, it was plagued with mountains of issues that halted ever ambitious and patient players who bought Grand Theft Auto V but learnt that the online feature was to come later and when it did it was non-playable due to technicality issues.
After patching it up several times, Rockstar has finally set the online experience on a smooth track but that’s not all, Rockstar, knowing how patient the fans were for the online feature and with issues that plagued and stopped online playability further, announced that it will be gifting a stimulus package this month for all Grand Theft Auto Online players and those who also plan to play it online. The stimulus package contains half a million in GTA$ that will be dropped in Grand Theft Auto Online bank accounts of all the players starting as early as next week.
But don’t expect to be half a millionaire in just a blink of an idea. In order to stop you from spending it all in one place, the deposit will come in two stages of $250,000. No specific date or time has been announced but Rockstar hopes to deposit the first half in the coming week after it has sorted out the issue causing game progress to be lost.
Below you can read a few more details from Rockstar themselves about how all of this will work:
- You must play or have played Grand Theft Auto Online at any time during the month of October 2013 in order to qualify for the GTA$500,000 deposit in your in-game bank account.
- Players will first have to install a forthcoming GTAV title update which we expect to happen next week. That title update (1.04) is expected to fix the remaining instances of issues that have caused vehicle purchase loss and will also enable the functionality through which we’ll be providing this GTA$ stimulus cash to players.
- We will announce at the Rockstar Newswire when each deposit is made.
- Each of the two GTA$250,000 deposits will be made by Rockstar and should automatically appear in the in-game GTA Online bank accounts of eligible players. Beyond downloading the forthcoming title update mentioned above, there should not be any additional special action required by eligible players to redeem.
Everybody loves free cash, although it is not real money, it is still something and a nice gesture from Rockstar to make amends with its fans.
