Rocksteady: No Announcement At The Game Awards, New Project Is Not Superman

Rocksteady Studios has commented on the new surge of rumors surrounding their upcoming game and curbed them once and for all by confirming that they won’t show anything at The Game Awards.

This news was shared by the co-founder of Rocksteady Studios, Sefton Hill, on his official Twitter account. According to him, they will not make a new game announcement at The Game Awards. He also basically squashed any rumor of a Superman game by Rocksteady Studios by stating that their next game is not Superman.

Rocksteady Studios has worked on the Batman Arkham Trilogy which concluded with Batman Arkham Knight released in 2015. Since then, they have been working in secrecy on a new project but the identity of this project remains a secret.

Let’s go back a bit and simply list the rumors that have been spread out since early this year. We had rumors of a Justice League game, Batman Arkham DC team-up and then Superman again recently. All of this back and forth between the rumors have led to a confusing expectation for their next project, so it is nice to have some clarification that it is not going to be Superman.

Earlier, we had a rumor from a veteran journalist that teased that they will announce their project in Q1 2019. However, some fans were hoping to hear from them at The Game Awards, so this is not going to happen now judging from the official comment made by the game director and co-founder of Rocksteady Studios.
